Yaffa through our eyes
This is Abed, from Jaffa, with a photo he took during our summer photography workshop at Sadaka Reut. The project was called 'Yaffa through our eyes'. Thanks to the generosity of donors in the UK and Israel, we were able to put up an exhibition of the work at the Sadaka Reut youth centre in Jaffa. You can see the writing and photography here; and pictures of the exhibition here.

This is brilliant, and I can't wait to see you. Off now - will call when coming back into London

I really loved the photo essay on your website - it's wonderful to hear about projects that don't just tick boxes but that are really in tune with young people's needs for creativity and fun. We have talked a lot (at the various events at Tooks) about reconnection with humanity and how art can be an extremely effective means of bridging social, political and cultural divides. It's great to see that in action, especially when the product has an intrinsic artistic value as well.
The pictures of the project look truly inspirational and I will be in touch soon about something for our website - and the possibility of your writing a pamphlet.
With all best wishes,
Imogen

It sounds great! What an experience with such incredible young people. I saw Promises the other day and was astounded by the fluency and
ability to analyze on the part of 12 year old Jewish and Palestinian kids...
